An ancient Chinese therapy, acupressure is based on very similar principles to acupuncture. In common with acupuncture and reflexology, it is based on the belief that the body’s energy flows through channels called meridians. Acupressure uses the same points as acupuncture, but instead of using needles, it uses the fingers to apply gentle but firm pressure on the key points. This pressure stimulates the flow of energy and helps to release blockages, therefor alleviating many common complaints and disorders and restoring harmony and balance to the body, mind and spirit.
